How It Works

Our system is designed to be as simple as possible, whilst giving you as much support as we can to bring your show to life, from the first planning meeting through to the final note of the ‘Exit Music’ on closing night.

  1. Choose your show. Read the page for the show, make sure the tracks are for the correct version of the show you are looking for and most importantly – listen to the demos. We love our tracks and we hope you will too.
  2. Conductor Cam? Decide whether you need a conductor cam for your show. There should be an example of one on each Demo page so you can see what they look like.
  3. Get In Touch. You can either use the form on the Contact page or simply email us at pmbackingtracks@gmail.com. Let us know which show you want and with or without a conductor cam and we will get the ball rolling.
  4. Agreements and Payment. When you are happy and ready to go we will send you a copy of our agreement (to learn about it click here) and organise payment. This will either be via Direct Deposit or Paypal, whatever is easiest for you.
  5. Receive Your Tracks. Once we have received the payment and signed agreement we will then send you a full set of tracks. These are full orchestra tracks that adhere to either the cast recording or the orchestration with estimated vamps. We think it’s important that you start using the orchestra tracks as early as possible so the performers get used to what they will be hearing on stage.
  6. Edits. Throughout rehearsals you will start to find points where you need the tracks altered, maybe a tempo is too slow or you need a few more times in a vamp for a scene change, or maybe you want to take the song down a tone to sit better in a performer’s voice. All you have to do is send your edits to us and we will turn them round as quick as possible (sometimes the same day although we can’t promise anything). You can do this as many times as you like until you are happy with the show you have.

And that’s it. No extra software to download or learn. No restrictions. Just a collaborative way of making theatre. How it should be.

If you have any questions, thoughts or queries (or maybe a request for which show we should provide tracks for next?) why not drop us an email? We love hearing from you.
